Therapy with Me

Let’s be real with each other. That’s the foundation for everything we do in therapy.

We know from research that building trust, understanding, and connection is an essential part of this work. I do that by showing up as myself—not hiding behind some clinical mask—and making space for you to do the same.

Therapeutic Approach

I offer two approaches to therapy:
1) Deep Experiential Work where I gently guide us inward, under the surface-level to identify and heal the root of the issue in the powerful emotional parts of the brain.
2) Tools and Practices to help better manage difficulties and move toward what matters.

The deeper work is usually the more powerful option, resulting in transformation from the inside out. When this happens clients often report feeling ‘lighter’, ‘there’s room to breathe’, ‘a weight has been lifted’ , ‘it just feels different!’. Rather than simply managing symptoms, deeper healing has happened, and there are more internal resources to deal with the hard stuff of the present.

My approach is suited to folks who want a supportive, empathetic therapist who will help them go deeper and experiment with new ways of exploring their inner world. My approach is probably not suited to those who want a therapist who will just passively nod and listen, or just want a place to vent without any particular direction.

Therapy only works when there’s a good fit. So notice how you’re feeling after reading this. Do you feel drawn to me, or away? Follow your intuition.

Specific Modalities

My approach to Experiential Therapy combines 3 modalities that are designed to release emotional pain and patterns causing you suffering, through a science-based process called Memory Reconsolidation. Using 3 modalities allows me to tailor to different personalities that tend to resonate more with one approach than the others, but all lead to a similar outcome. They are:

Before I turned to this deeper work because of its transformative potential, I specialized in Mindfulness & Cognitive-Behavioural modalities. These therapies provide Tools and Practices to self-regulate, and try new ways of thinking and acting.
